Board of Directors Nominations

CGHC’s Board of Directors is looking for new members!

As a cooperative, Common Ground Healthcare Cooperative (CGHC) is governed by a Board of Directors elected from our membership. This ensures our members have a voice in the business decisions made for the cooperative.

Any active member who is 18 years of age or older may nominate themselves or another CGHC member to serve on our Board. New Board members take office in July. Depending on the open seats, terms will run up to 3 years.

Review CGHC’s Board of Directors Roles and Responsibilities to understand what is expected of Board members. This document also explains the criteria the CGHC Nominations Committee will use to select candidates.

Nominations received will follow the process outlined below to select and elect candidates for our Board of Directors:

    • Acknowledgement of submission.  All nominees will be contacted by CGHC staff.
    • Screening for eligibility. Only CGHC policyholders who are 18 years of age or older with memberships in good standing will be considered for board service.
    • Eligible nominees will receive an online survey. The survey is used to screen for the required criteria for Board candidacy.
    • Nominees who meet the criteria for Board selection will be invited to an interview. The interview will be conducted by the Nominations Committee, which is appointed by the CGHC Board of Directors.
    • Selection of candidates is made by the Board of Directors based on the advice of the Nominations Committee.
    • Slate of Candidates announced. Selected candidates will be on the ballot for election by CGHC’s membership starting in May. Elections will be contested. That means more individuals will be on the ballot than the number of open Board seats.
    • Election ballots and candidate biographies will be mailed to all CGHC members who are 18 years of age or older.
    • Votes will be counted and independently verified.
    • The new Board of Directors will become operational by July.
